Lowered Ride?

I am itchy butt now and feel like wanted to lowered my VW Jetta. My choice of lowered springs are Eibach Pro-Kit or H&R OE Springs but I guess few places I have asked about H&R and they don’t bring the OE Springs.

Oh well, will probably wait for a used Eibach Pro-Kit on sales. I wonder how it will feel pairing with the original absorbers. Just found out Yellow Konis absorbers is available for my VW Jetta.

Anyone have a set of Eibach Pro-Kit for sales, do email me at

K&N 57s Performance Airbox

K&N’s New 57S Performance Airbox Adds Power to Several Volkswagen, Seat, Audi and Skoda Models

K&N has developed a performance airbox system for a wide range of 2003 to 2009 Volkswagen, Seat, Audi and Skoda models found in Europe and around the globe. See the complete list of vehicles below. The 57S-9500 is fully compliant with the latest TUV emissions and sound regulations. It was submitted for testing and certified before it was released by K&N.

K&N 57S-9500 Performance Intake Kit for a wide range of 2003 – 2009 Volkswagen, Seat, Audi and Skoda makes and models

The 57S-9500 increases horsepower and acceleration by reducing air flow restriction caused by the original factory design. Typical gains on a 4 cylinder vehicle range between 4 and 7 horsepower. Simply replace the factory air filter housing with K&N’s fully enclosed airbox. It is injection molded for extra strength, consistency and durability.

The airbox assembly has a removable lid for easy access to a round tapered washable and reusable K&N air filter (RU-5061). The design includes a custom engineered velocity stack (Velum) for smooth air flow.

A typical installation can be done with a screwdriver, pliers and a ratchet set. 57S performance air boxes use factory holes as mounting points. The 57S-9500 is pre assembled and custom designed to fit right into the engine compartment. The air box assembly is connected to the engine with adapters made from high strength materials. Put this all together and you’ll have a power adding TUV compliant high-flow intake system that will last for the life of your vehicle.

About 2.0 FSI (150 hp)

The 2.0 FSI summons up 110 kW (150 bhp) and a torque of 200 Nm between 3,250 and 4,250 rpm. This allows the 2.0 FSI saloon to accelerate to from 0 to 100 km/h in only 9.6 seconds. Thanks to the new engine, it reaches a top speed of 218 km/h.

Just as characteristic as the sportiness of FSI engines is their distinctive efficiency – and the combination of both these properties qualifies the FSI as the clear leader in its class. In view of the performance figures achieved, an average consumption of 7.1 litres of premium-grade petrol per 100 kilometres (overall according to 1999/100 EC) for the saloon and Avant is exemplary. The engine’s emissions, of course, remain under the limits of what is currently the most stringent standard, the EU IV.

FSI engines achieve considerably more output and dynamism than conventional engines with indirect injection – with at the same time a major reduction in fuel consumption. With the increase in efficiency achieved here, VW/Audi has opened up a new dimension in the efficiency of standard spark-ignition engines and once again demonstrated the proverbial progress through technology familiar to the brand.

Votex Front Lip

Managed to installed the Votex front lip on my VW Jetta this afternoon. Installation took some time due to adjustment for perfect fitment. Next is to send in for paint job. But before that, I might wait for my Votex side skirting and boot lip (if can find them locally).

Photos coming up soon and meanwhile enjoy some great photos from other Rabbit.
